July 2010

The other day I offered a few time management hacks that included advice about watching less television. I haven’t changed my outlook on what a time waster the old boob tube can be, but whenever I flip across one of those reality shows dedicated to cleaning out someone’s uncontrollably messy house, I can’t help but watch (especially with my dad who loves those shows).

Although the majority of us don’t have to sleep in a living room recliner because our beds are completely covered with dirty clothes, shopping bags, photo albums, and who knows what else (hey, haven’t you seen Hoarders?)  but I’d have to guess that a lot of people reading this do have messy work areas. I know I’m guilty of it from time to time.

Greetings from Belfast, Northern Ireland.  It’s been a pretty hectic last couple of months.  All I’ve had time to do was travel and a little bit of work. (So that’s why I’ve been lousy at updating y’all on my adventures).

The other day I was biking through Inishmore (a small island near Galway, Ireland) and I got to thinking about a report I was about to release, “41 Hot Internet Marketing Niches.”

Here’s another excellent guest post from David Black of the Social Masters site.  Both he and his partner Preston have a bunch of tips that can help guys in their dating lives, while also giving practical information about how to improve your overall social interactions.  Today he talks about how to build both your personal AND professional relationships.  Take it away David…

Hey guys David Black here from Social Masters. Today I want you to think about some of the similarities between business and personal relationships. Sure they are different, but I think we can gain a lot of mileage in focusing on the areas in which they overlap. To improve one is to improve the other, so to speak. [click to continue…]

When I was a kid and stuck at school, the days seemed to drag on forever. I remember staring at the clock above the chalkboard, wondering why the hands were moving so slowly. Once the bell rang, I’d jump up from my desk and rush home to do something a heck of a lot more fun than sitting at school.

Now that I’m an adult, it seems like time moves a lot faster than it did back in elementary school—I find myself going to bed at night thinking of ten other things I could have done during the day if I’d had more time. It’s funny how that works, because I have the same 24 hours a day that I had when I was a kid, but it never seems like enough.

Here’s another post in our series about blogging.  This is a weekly lesson where I cover how to have success with a website.  In case you’ve missed anything you can read the other articles here.

#1 Secret to Promoting an Affiliate Product

July 20, 2010

There’s been a lot written about how to promote an affiliate marketing product. Some people tell you to presell it. Others recommend marketing the product like it’s your own. And a few say you should discuss both the good and bad points about what you’re trying to sell.

In my opinion, all of this is good advice. However, there’s one secret to promoting an affiliate product that stands out above the rest. It’s a concept I call “The Gene Factor.”
