About Me

Thanks for visiting Steve Scott Site! Here we talk about building a passive income online business, lifestyle design and how to get more out of life. If you're new here you should subscribe to my RSS feed and get updates the second a new post is published. Thanks for visiting!

I guess this is the section where I’m supposed to talk about myself. So here it goes…

Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Steve Scott and this is my site. Hence the name “Steve Scott Site.”

Clever, right?

Future Lifestyle Designer with Older Brother and Cousin

Future Lifestyle Designer with Older Brother and Cousin

In this little corner of the Internet I’m going to focus on three major areas:

#1 – Lifestyle Design

Lifestyle design will be the primary focus of this site. Yes, it is possible to make your own hours and work from any spot in the world.

A lot of people think they need a 9 to 5 job. With this site, I’m going to show how it’s possible to never work for a company again. Here you’ll discover a lot of information about how to break away from the corporate environment and live your life on your terms.

And to give you a kick in the ass, I’m going to chronicle my adventures as I travel the world. (This will also give me that extra push to actually do stuff instead of just talking about it.)

#2 – Internet Marketing

How do I pay for my dream lifestyle?

Enjoying a Costa Rica Sunset

Enjoying a Costa Rica Sunset

This is the first question people have when they hear about lifestyle design. Hopefully this site will provide a few answers to that question.

The truth is you can make money from home off the Internet. I’m living proof that it’s possible. Now I’m not going to blow smoke up your ass…It does require effort. That means I won’t be talking about B.S. “get rich quick” scams.

Instead I’m going to reveal everything I know about Internet Marketing. I won’t claim to be an expert in this area. But I figure if I can support my dumb ass then I must know something.

#3 – Personal Growth

My friends ridicule me because I always have my nose in a book. Most of the time it’s on a topic about “success” or personal development. I can’t help it. I love reading about this stuff.

So…the third and final focus of this site will be on personal growth. I’m going to dedicate a lot of time to discussing the stuff that’s helped me in life. Little lessons I’ve learned from the million mistakes I’ve made.

Plus I’ll also cover different habits and personal growth techniques that I’m currently exploring.

A New Friend I Made in Cozumel Mexico

Specifically I’ll be spending a lot of time on what I call the 30 Day Success Habit Series. Here you’ll get a first person perspective on what it’s like to develop different habits. Maybe you’ll get a laugh or two as I fumble through these attempts at self-improvement.

Who is Steve?

Now that you know a little bit about this site, let me give you a little background on me:

First off I have to confess something… Steve Scott isn’t my real name.

A year ago I decided to remove my identity from the Internet.

It’s a long story…The short version is I decided to go with a pen name after I had a crazy person show up on my doorstep.

Whitewater Rafting with Friends

Whitewater Rafting with Friends

After gently persuading him to go away, I made a decision that day. I decided to take my home address off the Internet and go with a pseudonym. I’m sure you would do the same thing.

Anywho, moving on…

I currently live on the Jersey Shore. Believe me, it’s nothing like what they portray on that awful MTV show. It’s actually full of really cool people who don’t use tons of hair gel and steroids. I’m proud of where I live and shudder to think that the rest of the world thinks we’re anything like those morons.

I’m really into doing physical challenging hobbies. I’ve completed seven marathons. Plus I enjoy a number of outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, surfing, camping, and biking. This winter I’m going to try skiing. (It’s not going to be pretty)

As you can see from the pictures on this page, I like to travel. One of the greatest things about having an online business is I can see the world and generate an income at the same time. In 2010, I plan on spending the majority of my time traveling. So you’re going to see a lot of pictures and videos from my adventures.

Finally, like most people I enjoy spending a lot of time with the people who really matter to me. I have great parents, a wonderful family, and close-knit group of friends.

Spending Time with Friends in Hoboken NJ

One of the points I try to emphasize about lifestyle design is you don’t have to travel the world to find fulfillment. Sometimes the greatest moments are spent with the people closest to you.

Anyway enough with the sentimental crap…

Am I a Guru?

I’m a little nervous about starting a website about lifestyle design and personal growth.

I worry that people might actually listen to me.

I’m definitely not a guru on these subjects. In fact, I would consider myself to be an anti-guru. This isn’t going to be one of those slick, over-hyped sites which make you feel bad about your life. You won’t see me in a three-piece suit telling you what to do.

The one thing you’re going to get is honesty. Like you, I’m an average person who wants something more out of life. This site is simply my podium to discuss the things I love talking about. Maybe you’ll get something out of it as well.

Well, that’s about it. Thank you for stopping by…Don’t be a stranger.

I am just begining and already the ride has been great! I love the outdoors and especially sunsets..so thanks for sharing

Really enjoy reading you posts and have been intrigued with how the thousands of people on twitter are making any money referring themselves round and round selling the same training systems or similar systems.
Have been successful in network marketing with the largest company still in business, but can’t stand their comp plan. Keep writing and sharing. Have fun in Italy.

Hey, “Steve” – Be still my heart! I grew up on the Jersey shore – from Cape May up to Ocean Grove and loved every minute of it.

You can NEVER take the shore out of the girl … or guy.

Awesome! OG is right down the road from me…actually I do a lot my runs through that town. As I’m traveling around right now, I definitely miss the summertime there.

Definitely agree you can’t take the JS part away from a person :-)

My pleasure Olympe! Glad to see you stopping by… I did read that book, and I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about it. Some of the concepts are interesting, but I feel some people get lazy waiting around for “the universe” to provide stuff.

Anyway, let me know if you need help getting your blog started. (I’m actually currently writing a series of posts to help people with this)

    Steve,

    Great posts

I have only fairly recently started following what you write but I really enjoy your writing and the crystal clear clarity you present in your writings. I have not yet started my own blog but I will soon. Thanks for all the great info.
