Best of Steve Scott Site 2010

It’s early New Year’s Eve here in New Jersey.  The end of the day brings to close my first official calendar year of blogging.  So I’d thought it would be appropriate to list what I consider to be the best posts from the last 12 months.  And to keep with the theme for the day, we’ll do things “countdown style”:Best of Steve Scott Site 2010

29 Ways to Make Today the Worst Day Ever: This is a personal favorite because it’s my first attempt at writing a humorous article.  I think it’s pretty sad that most folks talk about wanting a better life, but rarely take the steps to go get it.  This article has a little fun at their expense.

9 Work Abroad Jobs to Support yourself while Traveling:  During my seven month trek through Europe, I met a lot of folks who found different ways to afford traveling.  This post listed some of the better ideas I learned from my fellow travelers.

Attack of the Demon Dachshunds:  I’ve had some strange things happen to me in my travels.  One of them was during a run.  In this video post, I get chased by a pack of blood-thirsty dachshunds.

How to Make Money with Affiliate Marketing:  I honestly believe you can use this blog post and turn it into a six-figure yearly income.  I wrote this detailing the exact steps I use to make money online.  If you haven’t had success with affiliate marketing, then I recommend starting here.

5 Stupidly Simple Ways to Make Money on the Internet: I was definitely angry when I wrote this post.  I guess it came from frustration at all the scams I see on the Internet.  I’ve found that most people don’t believe you can make money on the Internet because all they see are predators pitching products with no value.

Stupid Guest Post Authors Need Not Apply:  This is a great example of how a “rant post” can get a lot of comments and Tweets.  All I did was find a common enemy of readers and went to town on them.  I recommend every blogger should write a rant post from time to time.  You’d be surprised at how well people will react to an article like this.

How to Research an Internet Marketing Niche: THE Ultimate Guide:  This post is over 4,000 words of pure content.  I did my best to give a crapload of quality information that can’t be found on any other Internet lifestyle site.  Hopefully you’d agree!

How to Lose a Girl in 14 Months: This is another one of my favorites because it came from a very painful experience.  I started this blog because I didn’t know what to do with myself after a gut-wrenching break up.  Looking back at this article, I think I whine more than an Emo kid at a Cure Concert.  But overall, it’s the most “real” post I’ve ever written.

17 Tips for Making Friends while Traveling Solo:  Traveling on your own for an extended period of time is an *interesting* experience.  In this post, I detail everything I learned about quickly making friends – No matter where you go.

How to Get 300 Visitors a Day from Twitter:  It’s ironic that the most Tweeted post on my blog is about Twitter.    While I’ve changed a few tactics since writing this article, I still think it provides a great solution for those who want to maximize results from Twitter.

Happy New Year!

For me, 2010 has been an interesting year.  Blogwise I wrote 356 posts.  Some were so-so, others stunk, and a few were pretty good.  Hopefully this post showcased some of the better bits of content I’ve created in this year.

Now I’m ready for 2011.  For this New Year, I’m ready to give 110%.  It’s my goal to make every post be something that can provide immediate results in YOUR Internet lifestyle.

So I hope you had a great 2010 and I look forward to speaking with you in the next year!

Take Action. Get Results.

  1. Hi Steve:

Liked you post, want to read some of them again. So you wrote 356 post. Awesome man.
So what are your goals for next year. I finished my project that I had to stop living, to finish it in time. I finished it one day early. I feel good that I made it. I also finished Ezine article challenge, writing hundred articles. Blog was ignored a bit, but then I could not do everything. Today I am only commenting, so I meet every one back. I missed everyone and my blog.

Well Steve enjoy the day, as it is the last day of 2010, and I am sure you have planned an awesome New Years Eve Your Self. Have a good one. Best wishes for the New Year

    • Fran,
The main goals of this year is to expand readership and begin to monetize. I Have a few ebooks in the works and/or planning stages that I should come out with in the next 6 months plus a plan to continue to expand my base. Nothing is going to be instant or quick, but I am looking forward to the changes I have coming.

Glad you met your goals. Writing 100 ezine articles is not only a good challenge but the extra backlinks and traffic should be helpful for a time to come 🙂

What are you plans for 2011? anything exciting? Regardless have a great 2011 and a happy new years eve party.

  2. Fantastic roundup of articles! And how did *you* enjoy our beloved snowfall? Would you believe, my family and I drove 685-odd miles starting on Monday (the day after the snowfall)… it was truly an adventure indeed.

Waiting for it all to melt!

    • OUCH! I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to have driven anytime soon after the snowstorm. There are STILL some side streets that haven’t been completely cleaned up here. Not only was it a bad storm but it was not well prepared for.

Glad you made it safely the 685 miles that is a long way to go with (a large chunk of it I assume) through snow ravaged areas. I am sure that was not an easy trek.

  3. Hi Steve,

    Great list here.

I’m going right to #8. You had me at Demon Dachshunds and from prior posts I remember your running stories to be quite colorful. You seem to magnetize yourself to wildlife in particular.

Thanks for sharing and have a Happy New Year!

  4. Hey Steve,

I finally got a copy of TweetAttacks and started using it. There are a ton of other things it can do, I am excited to see what it does for my traffic in the new year. Have a Happy New Year!

    • Sean,

Glad you liked tweetattacks. It is a pretty kick ass program if you do a lot of for not only quickly increasing your twitter account but helping organize and manage it.

      Have a wonderful 2011, man!

  5. hi Steve, you have done a very good work through out this year and have added value to blogging. Giving a round up of top ten was very smart. We definitely have to read some of them again. All the best for the new year!

    • thanks SteveI appreciate your kind words. New Year’s does seem to be the time to do a list. It seemed right. Hopefully people do enjoy reading some of the posts. I doubt everybody has read them all.

  6. Hey Steve,

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hmm I must have been an avid follower to have read almost all your posts. Great selection there. And have a great new year ahead! 🙂

  7. Hi Scott,

What a wonderful read – very creative! It brought back some wonderful memories of your articles over the last year. I’m sure it must have been very hard for you to pick just 10 of the hundreds of wonderful articles you’ve written.

Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy and prosperous 2011! 🙂

  8. Steve,
I did love 29 ways to make it the worst day ever. It really made me laugh. I go back to that one a lot to remind me not to take myself so serious. 😉
