Steve’s Sunday Selections – Jul 4th, 2010

To all my fellow U.S. citizens, Happy 4th of July!  To everyone else… Happy Sunday!   Today we have a lot of great posts in this edition of Steve’s Sunday Selections.  So let’s get to it…

On Thursday Marthe did a great guest post.  Before adding to my blog, I wanted to do a quick review of her site.  One of the posts that stood out was a random trip she took to Rome.  I think we should do more things like this…be a little spontaneous and hop a plane to random places.

Want to gain 20 lbs. of muscles in 60 days.  Read Tanner’s article and learn how to do this.

Do you have a problem with compulsive eating?  If so, read Mark’s post about different strategies and mental exercises you can use to overcome a compulsive eating problem.

I like how Mark gets a few lessons from Johann Sebastian Bach about blogging.  In this post, he gives 7 steps you can use for creating blogging masterpieces.

Pat has a just started an excellent series about YouTube tricks and tactics for bloggers.  I’ve already bookmarked these posts and will be implement these techniques when I have a chance to sit down and create a video strategy. Here is Part 1, this is Part 2 and be sure to check out Part 3.

Gail has a series of interesting posts about overcoming digital distractions.  I think it’s important to follow her example because it gets very easy to get sidetracked by all the doo-hickeys that are available to people in our modern society.

For all you aspiring writers out there… Here is a great post about how to promote your writing or poetry blog.  This definitely will help those who want to turn their passion into a profitable side income.

Darren has a really in-depth article about how to create a Facebook landing page for your blog.  Plus be sure to read his 5 tips about using Facebook to increase reader engagement.  Both posts are effective articles for getting most out of this social media site.

Want to increase the number of guest posts you submit?  If so, read Liat’s five tricks for finding guest post opportunities.

Maren has a great post about the 6 steps for building a mobile business.  I read this one with great interest because I’m basically running three online businesses out of backpack that I carry from one European country to the next.  I highly recommend you read this one!

Once again, Tim fills has a post that’s filled with content you can use.  In this article, he describes how to create your own real-world MBA.  This is great for those who are looking for ideas to break out of that 9 to 5 job.

Alex has a few thought-provoking tips in his post about 7 tips for personal minimalism.  You should definitely check this one out if you’re trying to cut-back on the unnecessary things in life.

Finally…last but definitely not least.  Brandon is having a great autoresponder contest.  I’m currently working on this one because I have a sad total of 2 autoresponders for this site.  So I’ll be spending the next week creating a few emails and throwing my hat in the ring.  If your email sequence is lacking, then I recommend you do the same!

Well that’s it for this week! I definitely recommend you check all these articles and support these sites through Tweets, blog comments, and submitting to sites like Digg.  They work hard to provide content…so show them some love!

Take Action. Get Results.

  1. Wow, Steve, you’ve got quite the selection going here. I’ve only seen a few of these, so obviously I must have been under a rock or something to miss the other gems.

Thanks so much for pointing these out. I was in Rome last September so my first stop is to go and visit Marthe post to see what she has to say. Then, I’ll check out the other ones that I missed.

  2. Steve,

I actually spent quite a bit of time over the last week trying to catch up on the load of information you’ve suggested here, and still couldn’t get through all of it. And now it’s almost time for another whole load of it 🙂

Thanks for all the wealth of information. Can’t say which of them was the best, but I must say I got great insight from “how to create your own real-world MBA”.

    • I feel the same way… It takes me about two hours to put these posts together because I’m busy bookmarking and reading. Definitely an information overload!

    • Tanner— My pleasure! You definitely put together a quality post, that’s useful towards people who want to put on muscle. I’ve bookmarked it and will be trying it out when I’m back from traveling and will have access to a gym.
