Build My Rank Has Been Shut Down!

Build My Rank - Closed for BusinessFor the last few months, I’ve recommended the “Build My Rank” service in a number of posts.  This is a tool I’ve used to increase search engine rankings to many of my niche sites.

Unfortunately, Build My Rank (BMR) has shut its doors because most of the sites in their blog network have been de-indexed by Google.

In a weird way, I was kind of expecting this to happen.  In the last week, a few of my sites have been “Sandboxed.”  On two of them, the only thing I did was write a few BMR posts.  So I (had) have a suspicious feeling that Google is penalizing any site that’s connected to this service.

Now the MAJOR obstacle to building niche sites is search engine optimization (SEO.)  Frankly, it can take a long time to build links and get your niche site ranked in search engines.  Sometimes it seems like I’ll spend an entire day doing one thing for a single site.

All Internet businesses need a solid search engine optimization (SEO) strategy.

…And the backlinks need to come from sites with high Google PageRank (PR).

Ultimately it’s these high PR backlinks that determine where your site will rank in the search engines for specific keyword phrases.

The question is – “How do you get a variety of backlinks without wasting a lot of time or money?”

This is something I’ve asked myself in the last few months as I develop my niche affiliate income sites.

When it comes to search engines, I believe in the 4 V’s of backlinks:

  1. Volume: The quantity of links to your site
  2. Variety: The number of different links to your site
  3. Velocity: The speed you get links to your site
  4. Verbiage: The anchor text on the link to your site

Now there’s one thing that sucks about building backlinks – If you do it wrong, you’ll get “Sandboxed” or even delisted by Google.  {This is bad.}

My advice is to think carefully about how you get backlinks to your site. In other words, only get links from sites that Google likes.  To help you get started, I’ve found a number of high PR sites where you can get backlinks.

Build My Rank Review – How to Get Backlinks that Google LOVES

As we’ve all learned, backlinks are a key factor for how Google ranks a page in their search results.

Put simply, the more quality backlinks you have the higher your site will rank.  (Okay… that was a major simplification.)

Basically there are two choices when it comes to backlinks:

  1. You can hope people will link to a site because they like the content
  2. You can use tools to [semi] automate the process of getting backlinks.

Frankly, I have always thought that most backlinking tools are complete junk, because they usually are.  Some will get your site penalized by the all mighty Google.  Others create lots of “junk content” throughout the Internet which does nothing for your site.

In the last month, I’ve tested about a dozen backlinking tools for my niche affiliate income series.
