How to Build a Non-Suck Info Product

How to Build Information Products that Dont SuckYou’ve probably heard about the income potential of writing books and information products.  Lately I’m generating a decent amount with my Kindle books.  So I know info products work!

The problem is it’s hard to create long-term income if you’re offering sucky information products.

That’s why it’s important to read Grant’s guest post and make you’re creating something that is worth purchasing.

Most information products suck.

There, I said it. The elephant in the room has been identified.

The hype-to-value ratio in the information product industry has gotten pretty far out of whack, in my experience.

The make money online sphere (you almost expected that to be anchor text, didn’t you!) is probably the worst, certainly. But at the end of the day, when you compare a much-hyped info product to a well-reviewed book on the same subject, the ink-splattered dead tree is probably a better deal.

How to Find TIme to Write an Ebook

How to Find Time to Write an eBook

We’ve all heard this before:

“One of the best ways to make money online is to write an eBook.”

I think this statement is true.

But I also believe it’s very hard for many entrepreneurs to find time to write an eBook.

We all live busy lives.

This is especially true if you juggle an Internet business with family, work, and other obligations.

So how do you find the time to write an eBook?

I have a simple answer:

You can’t find time to write an eBook, you need to make it.

Let me explain…

Make Streams of Online Passive Income

Make Streams of Online Passive IncomeMany people wonder: What’s the secret to making passive income online?

Most of the time I’m not a fan of using the words “passive income” because I’ve never found a business that runs 100% on autopilot.

With that said, I think it is important to create multiple streams of income.  This diversification prevents any “single point of failure” from ruining your Internet business.

{Click here to learn the technique I use to make over 90% of my online passive income.}

So today I’m going to talk about how to build passive online income.  Specifically I’ll detail the six revenue streams I’m currently using…

ANNOUNCING: Affiliate Marketing without the Bulls**t

Affiliate Marketing without the Bulls**tWell it’s finally here!

I’ve been writing and editing for six (very long) months.

Now I’m pleased to formally announce my first Internet Lifestyle course:

Affiliate Marketing without the Bulls**t

Okay…this post isn’t designed to ‘sell’ you on this product.

Instead I’ll answer a question I’ve received a few times: “How much will it cost?”

Right now, this course is being offered at a price that’s pretty low considering what’s included.

I’m only doing this for one week.    This isn’t some sort of scarcity tactic.  Come back on Tuesday the 12th and you’ll see I’ve raised the price by at least 30%.

The *Right Way* to Launch an Information Product

Rocket LaunchFor the last few weeks, I’ve talked about my information product ad nauseam.

Well, I’ve finally set a date for its launch – July 4th.  (Independence Day for my fellow U.S. citizens)

Now…this post isn’t about my eBook.  Instead, I’d like to discuss what I like about another blogger’s product launch.

Today Tristan of Blogging Bookshelf is unveiling his course which teaches people how to create infographics.  What I like about how this *launch* is how he demonstrates his expertise by referring to the infographics he’s created in the past:

Cleaning House and Creating the Perfect eBook

creating the perfect ebook

creating the perfect ebookWelcome to another Steve Scott Site Saturday link post.  Today’s post will be a quick discussion on some “housekeeping” items as well as a quick discussion on writing eBooks.

With Memorial Day just around the corner, Summer seems to be bearing down on us like an inexorable horde of zombies (Happy Zombie Awareness month!).  While Spring is still here, it is time to start our Saturday chat with a little bit of spring cleaning.

Dofollow

First of off is a little change of business.  Thanks to this nofollow/dofollow post by Ana, I decided to make a small change to my nofollow policy by using the nofollowfree plugin.  What does that mean to most of the comments on here?  Probably very little.

Right now I give away up to two links for each comment.  The “name” block, which has Keywordluv enabled and the commentluv block.  This new plug-in does nothing to change the commentluv block.  It is still dofollow and will be for the foreseeable future.

Affiliate Marketing without the Bulls**t [Update]

April has come and gone.

This is unfortunate because I was hoping to complete my first Internet lifestyle project by now:

Affiliate Marketing without the Bulls**t

Affiliate Marketing without B.S. UpdateSo it’s May.  And still no product.

I’ve had a number of people email me, asking what’s going on with it.

That’s why I thought I’d give a quick update on this eCourse:

The 2nd Draft is in the Can!

As I detailed in this post, most of the hard work with writing is the second draft.  It’s where I (try to) edit and make everything grammatically correct.  This project has been particularly difficult since it’s more than 80,000 words.  Yikes!

The good news is on Friday I put the finishing touches on the second draft.  I can give a big sigh of relief.  The hard part is now done!

I still need to do a lot of things.  But I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

A Sneak Preview of Affiliate Marketing without the Bulls**t

So let’s talk about what’s in this product.  As the title promises, I’ve attempted to create a course that follows a no-nonsense, no-bullshit approach to affiliate marketing.

18 Ways To Use Simple Ebooks To Leverage your Online Business

Ways to use your Ebook

Today we have a guest post Paul Wolfe.  Paul talks about things near and dear to my heart.  E-Books.  More importantly, he talks about all the things you can do with an eBook once you have taken the time and effort to create one.  It is all about maximizing your effort.

With an amazing 18 things you can do with an eBook once you have completed it, this post should give you even more reasons to get going on your masterpiece.  Thanks Paul, take it away….Ways to use your Ebook

The eBook is dead – long live the eBook!

You may have heard exaggerated reports of the eBook’s apparent demise in your trawls around the old Interwebz.  Those reports have been grossly exaggerated – and whilst it’s true that in some markets the focus has switched to higher value content (e.g Video), not only is the eBook not dead.  But it’s gaining in popularity.

Although Amazon are notoriously tight-lipped in giving specific sales information, they were reporting Kindle books outselling hardcovers by 2 to 1 in May 2010.  And analysts predict that for 2011 Amazon will actually generate more revenue from Kindle book sales, than from sales of the readers.
